Keda Zambia Ceramics is a leading manufacturer in the ceramic industry, committed to quality, innovation, and operational excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join our team and lead the procurement department to new heights.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of purchasing staff.
- Assign daily tasks, set performance goals, and conduct performance reviews.
- Provide ongoing training and support to enhance team performance.
Procurement Strategy Development:
- Design and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Analyse market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Optimise sourcing methods to ensure efficiency and value.
Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Assess supplier capabilities, pricing, reliability, and quality.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity and service quality.
Purchase Order Management:
- Review, authorise, and manage purchase orders.
- Ensure accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely processing.
Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with the inventory team to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Prevent overstocking or stock-outs through effective purchasing planning.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset
- Solid knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Membership with a relevant professional body is an added advantage
