Position Overview – Ranch Field Supervisor Jobs in Mazabuka

Position: Ranch Field Supervisor (1 vacancy) – B1

Location: Mazabuka, Southern Province, Zambia

Reporting To: Ranch Supervisor

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise field workers and machine operators to meet daily production goals.
  • Oversee livestock care, including feeding, health monitoring, and welfare.
  • Monitor labour performance, attendance, and enforce discipline standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, labour hours, inputs, and outputs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular paddock inspections and assess grazing conditions.
  • Coordinate cattle movements according to pasture availability.
  • Support livestock health initiatives such as branding, dipping, deworming, and vaccinations.
  • Train and orient new employees on operational procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate in Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of experience in cattle ranching.
  • Supervisory experience within an agricultural setting is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated passion for livestock management and agricultural operations.
  • Artificial Insemination Certification is considered an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies Required

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and resilience under pressure.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality standards.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a dynamic work environment.

Work Environment

  • Primarily outdoor work subject to varying weather conditions.
  • May involve extended working hours, including weekends and public holidays during peak periods.
  • Physical stamina and endurance are essential for this role.
