JOB OBJECTIVE
To co-ordinate the provision of Occupational Health and Safety Institute services in line with the 2022-2026 strategic plan and periodically monitor, evaluate and optimize operational performance in order to contribute to the promotion of a healthy working environment and a productive workforce.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertakes and coordinates timely and effectively clinical examination of clients in order to determine their health status.
- Ensures timely and accurate preparation of reports in Occupational Medicine for decision making.
Formulates and disseminates educational materials for awareness programs on Occupational Health and Safety
- Participates effectively and timely in the formulation and implementation of occupational health and safety standards in order to ensure adherence to national and international standards
- Conducts and participates in Occupational Health and Safety research in order to generate information to inform OHS policies and standards.
- Undertakes teaching and training in OHS of students in order to impart knowledge and skills.
- Overseeing daily operations of the office, evaluating and monitoring the operational performance in line with the annual work plan.
- Supervises effectively utilization of human and other resources at the regional office in order to attain set objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Full Form 5 or Grade 12 school certificate or equivalent MB ChB or its equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Medicine or Occupational Health and Safety or Public Health- Occupational Health or equivalent
- 5 years post qualification experience
- Registered member of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
- Capable of writing comprehensive and analytical reports
- Able to communicate fluently in English
- Interpersonal, Leadership skills and Computer Literate
- Integrity, Confidentiality and Sober habits
- Able to perform efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Should be able to demonstrate excellent problem- solving and decision-making skills
