Background

Sheba Clinic is assembling its team ahead of the opening of a new healthcare facility in Lusaka and is seeking qualified and dedicated professionals to join the team.

Responsibilities

Antenatal Care: Provide comprehensive antenatal care, including screening, health education, and monitoring of pregnant women to ensure healthy pregnancies .

Labor & Delivery: Assist with normal deliveries, monitor labor progress, and manage obstetric emergencies such as hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, and retained placenta .

Postnatal Care: Provide postnatal care to mothers and newborns, including monitoring recovery, supporting breastfeeding, and promoting maternal and newborn health .

Family Planning: Offer family planning services, including counseling on contraceptive methods and provision of family planning commodities .

Newborn Care: Provide immediate care to newborns, including resuscitation if needed, and promote early initiation of breastfeeding .

Health Education: Educate mothers and families on maternal and child health, nutrition, hygiene, and immunization .

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate midwifery records, including antenatal registers, delivery notes, and postnatal records .

Referral: Identify and refer high-risk pregnancies and obstetric complications to the Medical Officer or higher-level facility .

Qualifications

Only suitably qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
