Mulungushi International Conference Centre Limited (MICCL) is a leading conferencing and hospitality facility in Zambia and a subsidiary of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Centre supports government, corporate, and international events while promoting Zambia as a regional hub for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
POSITION TITLE: RELIEF DRIVERS (2) (Period of Work: 3 Months)
Reporting Line
Reports to the Transport and Logistics Coordinator.
Job Purpose
To provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation of staff, equipment, materials, and official correspondence in accordance with road safety regulations and MICCL transport policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport staff, visitors, equipment, materials, and official mail safely and in compliance with traffic regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections (oil, water, tyre pressure, brake fluid, and visible defects).
- Maintain accurate movement logbooks including authorization, mileage, fuel allocation, and trip purpose.
- Ensure all trips are properly authorized before departure.
- Adhere to vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure vehicles remain insured, licensed, and roadworthy.
- Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and care.
- Report accidents, defects, or breakdowns promptly to the Transport and Logistics Coordinator.
- Ensure no unauthorized passengers are carried in company vehicles.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Transport and Logistics Coordinator.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a professional driver.
- Alternatively, 10 years’ driving experience may substitute the minimum education requirement.
Licensing
- Valid Zambian Class B or C1 Driving License.
Skills and Competencies
- Sound knowledge of road safety rules and traffic regulations.
- Basic motor vehicle mechanical knowledge (certificate in motor vehicle maintenance is an added advantage).
- Ability to maintain transport records and reports accurately.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to urgent assignments.
