Request for Proposal (RFP) Borehole Confirmatory siting, Drilling, Development, Hand Pump Installation and associated civil construction work tendering at DAI

DAI, the implementer of the USAID funded Scaling Up Nutrition Technical Assistance (SUN TA) Project, invites qualified bidders to submit proposals for the proposed work described below. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to invite bidders who have demonstrated experience and expertise in the following specialized borehole construction and rehabilitation services:

• Borehole confirmatory siting, drilling, borehole development, pumping tests and hand pump installation.
• High quality civil works including fencing and concrete work.
• Re-lining of boreholes with uPVC borehole casing and screens.
• Drilling/Rehabilitating and cleaning boreholes by means of water jetting and/or air lifting.
• Successfully managing rural water supply projects and engaging local communities during process. Training of local Area Pump Menders (APMs)
• Technical report writing and project management skills and production of "As built drawings of completed drilled borehole and associated civil construction works.

Companies must meet the following requirements to be eligible to bid on this RFP:

• Demonstrated valid legal registration in Zambia for a minimum of 5 years prior to bid date.
• Demonstrated implementation of at least 5 civil construction contracts involving concrete work and water reticulation and at least 5 borehole drilling and construction projects, each of a contract value of at least $50,000 USD during the last 3 years.
• Demonstrated experience in drilling, rehabilitation/reconstruction of at least 200 completed boreholes in the last three years for commercial/government/NGO clients comprised of contracts of at least 25 boreholes per contract.

Prospective bidders must possess at least:

• Possess at least two functioning 4x4 Or 6x6 mobile drilling rigs capable of DTH percussion and mud rotary drilling with compressors capable of achieving 100psi minimum
• Possess all required licenses- and permits to drill boreholes in Zambia.
• Water jetting equipment, Portable generator and submersible pump, 5000liter water bowser, Diesel or electric powered concrete mixers of at least 1.5cubic meters capacity
• Concrete poker/vibrator and Adequate work tools, wheelbarrows, shovels etc.

The deadline for responding to the RFP is 5:00 PM, Lusaka local time on 10 February 2023. Responses received after the deadline will not be reviewed and will be rejected by SUN TA.
