Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview)

Zambart is an independent Zambian research organization whose headquarters is at the University of Zambia’s Ridgeway Campus in Lusaka. Zambart is globally renowned for its interdisciplinary research on HIV and Tuberculosis and has contributed to HIV and TB policy and practice at national and global levels. Zambart’s research portfolio now includes a broader scope of urgent public health issues.

Zambart invites applications from ambitious and suitably qualified candidates to support the Yaba Guy Che Study, a five-year project funded by the UK National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). Zambart will serve as the lead implementing institution for the study that will be conducted in Kanyama community. The Yaba Guy Che Study seeks to implement and evaluate a co-developed, digitally supported, multi-disease intervention designed to help men navigate and, where possible, overcome persistent barriers within the health system. The intervention combines several community-based components: locally situated booths where men can discuss health concerns in a more informal setting; vending machines that dispense selected health-related products; and a mobile phone application that allows users to access health results and related information. Taken together, these components aim to provide flexible entry points into care that may be more acceptable to men who are less likely to engage with conventional health services.
