JOB OPPORTUNITY – Safety Officer
Van Mo Logistics Zambia Limited is inviting applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Safety Officer.
Job Purpose
To oversee and promote occupational health and safety within the company by identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures to ensure a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture across company operations
- Conduct workplace, vehicle, and equipment safety inspections
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement preventive measures
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Record and report accidents, incidents, and hazards
- Assist in accident investigations and recommend corrective actions
- Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and daily briefings
- Support emergency response procedures (fire, first aid, evacuation)
- Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures
- Conduct safety audits and monitor implementation of safety action plans
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience (logistics or mining experience is an added advantage)
- Valid Driver’s License
- First Aid Certification (mandatory)
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work independently or in a team
