Sales Manager - Solar Solutions

Freshtec Energy, a solar company, seeks to engage the services of a Sales Manager who is self-motivated, Goal-oriented with a drive to meet and exceed sales targets, and with a results-driven mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the sales strategy and leading the sales team to achieve growth in the solar industry sector. This role focuses on driving sales growth by developing and implementing strategic sales plans, managing key client relationships, and expanding market presence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in solar, with a proven ability to consistently exceed sales targets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives, providing guidance and support to drive individual and team performance.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and action plans to drive growth in the residential & commercial solar market segments.
  • Prospect and qualify leads to generate new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals tailored to meet the specific needs of customers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including large-scale projects, to expand our market presence and maximize revenue potential.
  • Stay up-to-date and monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Cultivate a high-performance sales culture by promoting collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key clients, including commercial, industrial, and government entities.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and partnerships within the solar industry.
  • Track, manage, and optimize the sales pipeline to ensure consistent follow-ups and deal closures.
  • Lead the development of compelling sales proposals, presentations, and contracts in alignment with company standards.
  • Deliver regular sales performance reports to senior management, highlighting key successes and areas for growth.
  • Forge strategic partnerships with installers, distributors, and other stakeholders in the solar value chain.
  • Expand market reach by identifying and establishing new distribution channels for solar products and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party partners to accelerate sales growth.
  • Stay informed about emerging solar technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory updates in the renewable energy sector.
  • Work closely with the Directors to develop targeted sales strategies for new products and solutions.
  • Ensure the sales team has deep product knowledge and can effectively communicate value propositions to clients.
  • Oversee the sales department’s targets, ensuring optimal resource allocation to maximize revenue.
  • Monitor and control sales expenses to meet profitability objectives.
  • Drive high levels of customer satisfaction and champion continuous improvements in product and service delivery.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to enhance offerings and refine the overall customer experience.

Qualifications Required

Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing or related field.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 + years of experience, with at least 2 years in a sales managerial role, in the related industry sector
  • Previous experience in Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Client (B2C) sales is essential
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and success in direct sales.

Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated experience in building and managing high-

performing sales teams.

  • Ability to analyse data and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
