Responsibilities or duties

  • Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with the company’s commercial and growth objectives
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and revenue targets
  • Manage and grow distributor, wholesale, and key account relationships
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to inform pricing and promotions
  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage the sales team, including sales representatives and merchandisers
  • Ensure effective route-to-market execution and territory coverage
  • Drive availability, visibility, and brand execution standards in the trade
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure demand fulfillment
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable liquor regulations

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ sales experience in FMCG, preferably in breweries, beverages, or alcohol categories
  • Proven experience managing distributors and key accounts
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high-performing sales team
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Experience with sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
