  • Build and maintain strong source networks to secure exclusive content, expert contributors and deeper access to stories.
  • Deliver high quality video content for major news events and breaking stories, working quickly and confidently while maintaining BBC editorial standards.
  • Innovate with new formats, storytelling techniques and audience engagement approaches to keep pace with changing digital and social media trends.
  • Collaborate closely with editors, designers and social media teams to maximise the impact, reach and quality of video output across platforms.
  • Apply an audience first mindset, using visual storytelling, platform expertise and efficient production workflows to create content that informs, resonates and drives engagement.

  • Strong production planning and organisational skills, with experience managing shoots, contributors, locations and deadlines in fast moving environments.
  • Good understanding of digital video best practice, including subtitles, graphics, content optimisation, platform algorithms and audience engagement techniques.
  • Knowledge of editorial compliance, copyright, safety and ethical reporting standards, with the ability to work responsibly in sensitive situations.
  • Resilient, adaptable and solutions focused, with a strong awareness of emerging content trends, competitor activity and opportunities to innovate in storytelling.
