JOB DETAILS:

Work on the ground to provide humanitarian aids, protection, assistance and services to the most vulnerable. Provide intervention to help the displaced meet a variety of needs, including access to food, water, healthcare, shelter.
Share Vision Network (SVN) provides disaster relief services to victims of natural disasters in farmworker communities. We believe that the community’s voices should direct our response and our program. The National Disaster & Relief Coordinator will report to and work closely with the CEO to plan and implement the Disaster Relief Program.

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and coordinate aid distribution
• Request financial and in-kind donations for the program.
• Purchase and/or arrange payment of basic needs items, construction materials, living expenses, transportation, etc. for victims of a natural disaster.
• Plan and coordinate aid distribution to families and farmworkers in a confidential, respectful, and culturally appropriate manner.
• Document donations received and distributed by EFWM with accurate detail.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers who can sort and transport donations.
• Plan and conduct evaluations regarding efficiency, cultural competence, and effectiveness of SVNs immediate response to a disaster.
• Create culturally appropriate promotional and educational materials.
• Implement Promotores Program
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate performance of Promoters: community leaders who educate their neighbors and farmworkers about disaster preparedness and assist SVN with disaster relief Planning.
• Communicate with Promotores to identify the community’s needs before, during, and after a disaster. Facilitate regular meetings with Promotores and collect information to guide the direction of the program
• Find resources and leadership development opportunities for Promotores.
• Plan and conduct evaluations regarding efficiency, cultural competence, and effectiveness of the Promotores program
• Coordinate advocacy efforts
• Develop plans and strategies with community members for advocacy related to disaster relief
• Find advocacy resources and training opportunities for community leaders. Support community members to understand the legislative process and power building strategies
• Plan advocacy visits involving community leaders, leaders of the Episcopal Church, and members of partner organizations
• Coalition building and collaborations
• Assist families in the process of applying to government or agency relief programs
• Represent SVN during coalition meetings. Work with community partners and Church mother bodies on a regular basis to assist immigrant community with disaster prevention and relief.
• Refer families to appropriate organizations as needed
• Participate in public education workshops regarding disaster preparedness and disaster relief efforts
• Engage in understanding of governmental and NGO programs Disaster Relief and prevention programs.
• Refer community members to near Church mother bodies for spiritual cancelling.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
• A Bachelor/ Master’s degree (minimum) in International Development/Disaster Management/Strategic Management/Economics/Project Planning or other relevant field.

• At least 2-5 years of relevant work experience, with at least three years in a senior role in the international development sector.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, networking and communication skills.
• Excellent leadership, coordination and relationship building skills. Current knowledge of development issues, strategies, as well as Programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation.
• Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas, as
• Well as to impart knowledge and teach skills;
• Demonstrated engagement with diverse donors and development partners;
• An effective and energetic team player, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment;
• Strong self-motivation and innovative skills, with capacity to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of grant management, monitoring and evaluation practices; Understanding of development policy research and issues related to inclusive growth and sustainable development in the developing regions.
• Familiarity with web publishing and interactive social media.
• Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish will be an advantage.
• The position is for an initial fixed-term of two (3) years, renewable based on
