Position Overview

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in Lusaka.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all electrical engineering activities within the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems and equipment.

Supervise electrical maintenance teams and contractors to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults and equipment failures to minimize plant downtime.

Oversee installation, commissioning, and upgrading of electrical equipment and systems.

Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, electrical standards, and company safety policies.

Prepare maintenance budgets, reports, and performance analyses.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and energy efficiency.

Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Valid practicing license from the Engineering Registration Board (ERB).

Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in heavy industry/manufacturing environment, with experience in lime, cement, mining, or processing plants being an added advantage.

Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation, and automation systems.

Proven leadership and team management skills.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
