The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for overseeing the organization’s purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. This role leads sourcing strategies, manages supplier relationships, and supports continuous improvement across procurement processes.
Responsibilities or duties
Procurement & Sourcing
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure timely procurement of goods and services while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
- Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to expand sourcing options.
- Conduct periodic supplier audits and performance reviews.
Contract & Compliance Management
- Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts and service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and reporting.
