JOB DETAILS:
Overall Purpose: To directly supervise a shift of underground miners, ensuring safe and efficient execution of the daily mining plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all personnel and activities during a shift (drilling, blasting, loading, ground support).
- Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and inspections.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure production targets are met.
- Respond to and manage any incidents or emergencies underground.
- Ensure accurate shift reporting for production, safety, and timekeeping.
Qualifications: - High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Shift Boss Ticket/Certificate of Competency.
- 5+ years of practical underground mining experience.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: associate degree
