Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of solar PV projects.
  • Proven expertise in on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar systems.
  • Proficiency in solar design software (PVsyst, Helioscope) and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of Zambian electrical standards, including ZS 418 (Electrical Safety Code), ZS 791 (Wiring of Premises), and the Zambian Grid Code.
  • Strong knowledge of international electrical codes, standards, and regulations (BS, NEC, IEC).
  • Experience with a variety of solar components, including inverters, solar panels, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professional registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is a significant advantage.
