EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Lunsemfwa Hydro Power Company Limited (LHPC) is an independent hydro-electric power producer based in Kabwe in the Central Province of Zambia. LHPC owns two Hydropower Stations namely, Mulungushi Power Station and Lunsemfwa Power Station with installed capacity of 32 MW and 24 MW respectively. The two Power Stations have both an upstream reservoir and four generating units each. The older units have undergone refurbishment in recent years. LHPC has Power Purchase Agreements with ZESCO and Copperbelt Energy Corporation. LHPC is also a member of the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP).

Therefore, the Company invites applications from highly motivated, result-oriented, suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacancy:

This role is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring efficient storage, stock control, timely availability of materials as well as supplies, while adhering to safety and procurement/stores procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory (receivables and issuances)
  • Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet the plants’ operational needs.
  • Manage storage areas, ensuring proper organization, labelling, and security of materials.
  • Assist in the procurement process by preparing requisitions and collaborating with other departments/units.
  • Ensure that all materials ordered meet the required specifications.
  • Implement and maintain effective stock control systems including procedures
  • Monitor stock movements and identify potential shortages or surpluses.
  • Evaluate safety stock limits and inventory order levels.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations in the storage and handling of materials.
  • Collaborate with other departments/units to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and submit monthly stores report to management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with at least credits in Maths and English.
  • Degree in purchasing and supply/Stores Management/CIPS Graduate Diploma
  • Must have worked in a similar role for at least three (3) years
  • Must be a paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS)
  • Knowledge of accounting/materials management software.
  • Good written and Communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Problem Solving Skills.
  • Decision Making Skills.
  • Physically fit
