Job description:
Overall Job Purpose
• The Scaffolding Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all scaffolding activities within the mining operations. Your role will involve managing a team of scaffolders, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting the efficient execution of projects while maintaining the integrity of structures and equipment
• Reporting directly to the Coordinator, you shall be responsible for providing the highest quality services and that all services provided are performed within a safe and timely manner.
Specific Job Responsibility
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
• Lead a team of scaffolders, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
• Schedule and organize work assignments, manage resources efficiently, and maintain clear communication within the team.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards related to scaffolding operations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to mitigate potential hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to plan and execute scaffolding activities according to project timelines and requirements.
• Coordinate the procurement and maintenance of scaffolding materials, tools, and equipment.
• Oversee the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections to assess the integrity and stability of scaffolds, addressing any issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of scaffolding activities, including reports on inspections, incident reports, and inventory management.
• Prepare and present progress reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental Management systems, policies and procedures along with ensuring that all risks have been identified, managed and safe working environment is maintained
• Enforce good housekeeping practices are maintained by enforcing cleaning up before, during and after every task and not leaving any hazards within the work place
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Experience required to perform in this job
• Proven Knowledge and experience on the different types of scaffolds
• Trained and certified scaffolder.
• At least 2 years’ experience in this in this position as supervisor.
• Excellent leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – computer literate
• Excellent organizational and presentation skills
• Must be knowledgeable about legislation governing health and safety
• Knowledge of Shop floor scheduling and planning

Qualifications
• G12 Certificate
• Engineering Diploma in a relevant field
• Certificate as scaffold inspector will be an advantage
• A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
• Knowledge in PRONTO
• Must hold a valid drivers’ license
• Must have a First Aid Certificate
