Position Overview

Job Type: Full Time
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Positions Available: 1
Probation Period: 3 Months
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain daily accounting entries in compliance with Zambian accounting standards and IFRS, preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Manage tax processes including filing and payments for VAT, CIT, WHT, PAYE, property tax, and transfer tax.
- Review tax compliance of contractors and suppliers, process Withholding Tax certificates, and pursue VAT refunds.
- Handle development cost accounting and manage input VAT carry forwards.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly NAPSA and NHIMA filings and payments.
- Stay informed on changes to Zambian tax legislation and advise the Finance Manager accordingly.
- Manage Smart Invoice invoicing, data uploads, and related Zambia Revenue Authority e-invoicing matters.
- Coordinate with external accounting firms to support annual audits.
- Represent the company before the Zambia Revenue Authority and assist with compliance matters involving ZDA, PACRA, and CSO.
- Reconcile accounts in collaboration with the Chinese Finance Manager and support cash management and budget execution.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
- Mandatory ZICA Graduate Membership.
- Additional qualifications such as ZICA Licentiate, ACCA, or CIMA are advantageous.
- Minimum of four years full-time accounting experience within construction, industrial, or mining sectors is required; candidates without this sector-specific experience will not be considered.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian tax laws and filing procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software, including Smart Invoice, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with the Zambia Revenue Authority, banks, and external accounting firms.
- Capacity to work efficiently with a Chinese management team and perform under pressure.
- Integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness are essential.
- Must be based in Lusaka or willing to relocate and able to start immediately.
