  • Apply EYFS principles and developmental milestones to support children's individual learning journeys.
  • Develop activities that encourage communication, early language, numeracy, creativity, problem-solving and physical development.
  • Use stories, music, movement, sensory exploration, creative arts and structured play to make learning meaningful.
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials that stimulate curiosity and discovery.

2. Child Development and Assessment

  • Observe, assess and document children's developmental progress.
  • Identify individual learning needs and adapt activities to accommodate different abilities and developmental stages.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, communication and positive social interactions.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to parents and contribute to discussions about children's progress.

3. Safeguarding, Health and Wellbeing

  • Maintain a safe, clean, organised and child-friendly classroom.
  • Follow applicable child protection, safeguarding, health and safety procedures.
  • Promote positive behaviour through patience, encouragement, clear boundaries and age-appropriate guidance.
  • Support children's emotional wellbeing and help them develop healthy relationships with peers and adults.
  • Maintain appropriate hygiene routines and follow the school's health and safety procedures.

4. Parent and Community Engagement

  • Establish positive, respectful relationships with parents and caregivers.
  • Communicate children's progress, achievements and developmental needs professionally.
  • Encourage meaningful collaboration between home and school.
  • Participate in school activities, events and family engagement initiatives.

5. Professional Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistency in teaching practices and learner support.
  • Participate in planning meetings, professional development and curriculum reviews.
  • Contribute ideas that strengthen Rooted Academy's educational programmes and learning environment.
  • Uphold the school's values, professional standards and commitment to continuous improvement.
