POSITION
TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS
JOB PURPOSE
The job holder will be responsible for preparing and delivering well-structured and differentiated lessons to learners in the Secondary section of the School. The position holder will be expected to develop and stimulate the learners in subject-specific competencies.
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated mathematics lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to support understanding and stretch all learners.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress, providing effective feedback and interventions
- Maintain a positive, orderly and inclusive classroom environment.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the creation of engaging learning materials.
- Support enrichment activities such as mathematics clubs, competitions or revision sessions
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and pastoral staff to promote student success and well-being
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of mathematical concepts across the secondary curriculum.
- Use assessment data to identify learning gaps and plan interventions.
Preferred Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 certificate with 5 Credit or better
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education with specialty in Mathematics from a reputable University
- Qualified Teacher registered and licensed with The Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ)
- Ability to teach Additional Mathematics will be an added advantage
- Must be familiar with the school pathways of Examinations Councils of Zambia (ECZ), Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and IGCSE.
Knowledge / Experience/Skills/Competencies
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at a reputable School
- A growth mindset
- Strong analytical skills
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Good administrative and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills
- Must hold high levels of integrity and professionalism
- Flexible to changing work needs
- Must be computer literate
