Reports To: Head Broadband Services

Duties

• Carrying out structured installation of Broadband nodes while maintaining acceptable standards and best practices.
• Provide first line troubleshooting of broadband related problem on the phone and customer site.
• Carry out site surveys and producing comprehensive reports of the results.
• Carry out site survey installation and preventive maintenance on company’s base station equipment and other infrastructure required to provide broadband service.
• Carry out structured cable networks (LAN) installation and maintenance.
• Configure customer terminal equipment in accordance with the company best practices.

Skills required

• Must possess Diploma in Telecoms or Computer Science or IT related qualifications from a recognized institution
• A working knowledge of Wireless, Optic Fibre, DSL and PLC technologies.
• Knowledge of basic electrical installation, earthing, troubleshooting and safety standards.
• A thorough knowledge of structured cabling and civil works in line with prevailing safety standards.
• Rigging skills and ability to work outdoors and at elevated heights.
• Preferably N+ certification and City and Guilds technician qualifications
• Basic understanding of Networking and network devices that comprise Broadband infrastructure.
