We are seeking a skilled and versatile Telecom IT Engineer with strong experience in telecom environments, particularly within BSS, CS, and VAS domains. This role requires hands-on experience supporting telecom platforms, managing service availability, troubleshooting system and integration issues, and ensuring smooth operation of critical telecom services. Additionally, a solid understanding of telecom architecture, service flows, and end-to-end system dependencies across IT and network layers, along with the ability to perform effectively under pressure during production incidents or system outages and a willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and nights as required.
Responsibilities or duties
- Manage day-to-day operations of telecom platforms across BSS, CS, and VAS systems.
- Ensure high availability, stability, and performance of telecom applications and services.
- Perform system health checks, monitoring, and proactive issue detection.
- Support production environments and ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
- Act as a first/second line support for telecom system issues across multiple domains.
- Troubleshoot service degradation, call/session failures, and platform-level incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with vendors, network teams, and application teams for issue resolution.
- Support integration between telecom systems such as HLR/HSS, SMSC, OCS, billing, CRM, and provisioning systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot interfaces (SOAP, REST APIs, Diameter, FTP, MQ, etc.).
- Ensure smooth data and signaling flow across interconnected systems.
- Validate configuration changes and interface deployments.
- Support service activation, deactivation, and modification workflows across telecom platforms.
- Ensure proper provisioning flow from CRM/BSS to network elements.
- Investigate failed transactions and correct provisioning inconsistencies.
- Monitor subscriber lifecycle events and service usage flows.
- Use monitoring tools to track system performance, traffic, and capacity utilization.
- Identify bottlenecks in telecom platforms and propose optimization actions.
- Support capacity planning and system scaling activities.
- Ensure optimal performance of real-time and batch processing systems.
- Support deployment of configuration changes, patches, and upgrades in telecom environments.
- Participate in change management processes and ensure minimal service disruption.
- Validate system behavior after releases and ensure stability in production.
- Maintain configuration consistency across environments.
- Support telecom data flows including CDRs, charging events, and signaling records.
- Ensure accurate generation, processing, and forwarding of telecom data.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and missing records across systems.
- Work with analytics and billing teams to ensure data integrity.
- Maintain technical documentation for systems, interfaces, and operational procedures.
- Document incidents, RCAs, and preventive measures.
- Provide regular operational reports and system health summaries.
- Contribute to knowledge base and operational best practices.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Strong exposure to BSS, CS, or VAS platforms in telecom environments.
- Understanding of telecom architecture and service flows (end-to-end call/session lifecycle).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in complex distributed systems.
- Ability to work in production support environments with 24/7 critical systems.

2+ years of experience in telecom IT operations or system support roles.
