1. Job Purpose
Community Climate Solutions (CCS) is seeking motivated Tree Monitoring consultants to support field-based tree monitoring across our project areas. This is a hands-on, field-intensive role suited to individuals who are comfortable working in remote locations, and engaging directly with farmers and community members while collecting accurate monitoring data through a mobile app.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct tree monitoring activities in the field using the CCS mobile data-collection app.
- Record tree counts and survival data accurately at each monitoring point.
- Ensure monitoring data is linked to the correct farmer and field.
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy and completeness across all submissions; flag and correct errors promptly.
- Avoid duplicate or incorrect entries
- Engage respectfully with farmers and communities encountered during fieldwork, always representing CCS professionally.
3. Qualifications and core competencies
- Recent graduate degree or Diploma in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Agroforestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field
- Tree/forest monitoring, field ecology, or environmental data collection
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of accurate field data recording
- Able to work independently in the field, including remote or rural locations
- Willingness to learn new applications and technologies.
