Background
We are looking for a competent, organised, and experienced Warehouse Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of stock, warehouse operations, receiving and issuing of goods, inventory control, and maintaining accurate warehouse records.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods and spare parts against delivery notes, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Properly label, arrange, and store stock to ensure easy identification and retrieval.
- Issue spare parts and other materials against authorised requisitions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist with monthly and annual stocktaking.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies, damages, shortages, or excesses.
- Monitor stock levels and advise management on items requiring replenishment.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of spare parts to prevent damage or loss.
- Maintain an organised, clean, and secure warehouse.
- Process and maintain Goods Received Notes (GRNs), stock issue documents, and other warehouse documentation.
- Work closely with the Procurement, Sales, Workshop, Accounts, and Service Departments.
- Assist with identifying slow-moving, obsolete, and fast-moving stock.
- Ensure compliance with company warehouse procedures, health and safety requirements, and internal controls.
- Perform any other duties related to warehouse operations as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Stores Management, Warehouse Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- At least 2–3 years' experience in a warehouse/stores environment, preferably within the automotive, heavy equipment, transport, or engineering industry.
- Good knowledge of stock control and inventory management procedures.
- Experience using inventory/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be honest, reliable, and able to work with minimum supervision.
Additional Advantage
Candidates with experience or knowledge of IVECO and/or Cummins spare parts will have a distinct advantage.
