Zambia Partnerships and Funding Manager
About Us

Medical Aid Films (MAF) is an award-winning UK-based non-profit that brings together world-class health and medical expertise with creative film makers from around the world, developing innovative media to transform health and well-being in low-income countries. Utilising new technologies and innovative media platforms, we use film and animation to cut through low levels of literacy, provide clear and engaging content that is medically accurate and culturally appropriate, and provide a cost-effective, sustainable and scalable way to empower health workers and communities with the skills and knowledge they need to save lives.

The Role
MAF has been producing and screening films in Zambia since 2015, starting with a project partnering with the Zambian Ministry of Health DHMT in Serenje to run a rural community film outreach project that screens MCH educational films each month, and is currently operating the SCREEN project, which is a three-year programme creating and disseminating health films geared to rural adolescent youth throughout Zambia.
We are bringing on an individual to lead on partnership development and fundraising for the next phase of our work in Zambia and the region. It is expected that this position will lay the foundation from which MAF will build an expanded presence in Zambia and the region.
Partnership Development and Support [45%]
• Maintain and build strong and enduring relationships with partner organisations, government officials, and the media.
• Identify and develop new partnerships for MAF’s current and emerging work, such as for screening films and new project partners.
• Assist partners with integrating SCREEN content into existing educational and/or outreach programmes.
• Oversee partner operations to ensure agreed activities are implemented on-time and with the expected quality, requiring regular field visits and research activities.
Fundraising [45%]
• Working with the MAF Global Partnership and Funding Manager and the Head of Programmes to identify funding opportunities and develop proposals to fund existing work and new projects within Zambia and the region.
• Build a network of funders within Zambia and the region to identify grant opportunities for MAF’s project pipeline.
• Represent the organisation externally and develop networks with other organisations delivering health interventions in Zambia.
SCREEN Project Management [10%]
Provide oversight to the SCREEN project under the guidance of the Head of Programmes.
In addition to the areas listed above, you will be required to keep Salesforce up to date with relevant contacts and opportunities.
