JOB BRIEF
We are looking for a detail-oriented and trustworthy Chartered Accountant to join our excellent finance team. The Chartered Accountant’s responsibilities will include preparing financial statements and reports, performing tax and payroll duties, auditing accounts, and providing strong financial analysis.
The applicant is expected to have a solid understanding of accounting and financial principles, good communication skills, and the ability to handle and interpret large amounts of data.
Duties and responsibilities
- Process and reconcile transactions, including loan disbursements and repayments
- Preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports
- Conducting audits to ensure legal compliance and validate financial information
- Managing financial systems and budgets
- Assessing financial risks and suggesting preventive measures
- Providing professional advice on financial decisions, including investment opportunities
- Conducting internal audits and liaising with external auditors
- Ensuring that financial practices are in line with all statutory legislation and regulations
- Should have a keen eye for detail.
- Ensuring the company’s financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current activities and future growth
- Forecasting and planning future spending and profits
- Recommending ways to reduce costs and increase profits
- Making business recommendations based on cost-benefit analyses
- Staying up-to-date with regulatory changes and managing financial compliance
- Leading the budgeting and financial planning process
Qualifications
- Experience with lending institution's accounting systems
- Proven experience as a Chartered Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Diploma or BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
