About the Accountant Role
As an Accountant with MYT Management Consulting Limited, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring adherence to Zambian tax laws and statutory requirements, and contributing to budgeting and financial analysis. We require a candidate with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in FMCG or agro-processing industries, where inventory control, costing, and production accounting are essential.
Key Responsibilities for Accountant Jobs in Lusaka
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Manage the general ledger and reconcile all balance sheet accounts accurately.
- Prepare and submit statutory tax returns including VAT, PAYE, WHT, Income Tax, NAPSA, and NHIMA.
- Monitor cash flow and develop reliable cash flow forecasts to support financial planning.
- Develop budgets and track budget performance to ensure financial targets are met.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to maintain healthy cash cycles.
- Conduct inventory reconciliations and monitor stock movements to support production accuracy.
- Maintain detailed product costing and analyze production costs for operational efficiency.
- Coordinate annual audits and address audit queries promptly.
- Prepare management reports delivering actionable financial insights for decision-making.
- Strengthen internal controls and enhance financial processes to mitigate risks.
- Supervise junior finance staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ZICA, or equivalent.
- 5 to 7 years of accounting experience within FMCG or agro-processing sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Zambian tax legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in inventory management and cost accounting practices.
- Competency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems is advantageous.
