Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and record daily financial transactions
- Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports and summaries for management review
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently
- Prepare and process invoices in a timely manner
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
- Assist with payroll preparation and related financial activities
- Monitor budgets and track expenses to support financial planning
- Oversee regular stock takes to maintain inventory accuracy
- Implement controls over cash sales and reconciliations to safeguard assets
- Support tax preparation and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Maintain the fixed asset register and other accounting records diligently
- Provide financial advice and support to management to facilitate decision-making
Compliance and Statutory Responsibilities
The successful candidate will ensure the timely preparation and submission of all statutory deductions and payments, including:
- Salaries and bonuses
- PAYE (Pay As You Earn)
- NAPSA contributions
- NHIMA contributions
- ERB License Fee
- Value Added Tax (VAT)
Candidate Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional qualifications such as ZICA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent are advantageous
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
- In-depth knowledge of Zambian tax laws and statutory compliance
- Proficiency with accounting software, particularly Omni Accounts, and strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently
- Demonstrated high level of integrity and professionalism in previous roles
