Job Purpose

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring full compliance with statutory obligations, managing insurance and credit deduction processes, and actively supporting the company’s marketing and sales initiatives. You will also serve as a key liaison with government and partner agencies, including the negotiation and signing of formal agreements.

Key Responsibilities

Identify new sales opportunities, assist in developing marketing materials, and participate in community outreach and corporate eye-care campaigns to grow the client base. Track marketing and sales performance, providing periodic reports to management.

6) General Administration; Safeguard company assets by maintaining proper records and internal controls. Support procurement processes and inventory monitoring of optical supplies where needed.

Qualifications and Experience

1) Minimum Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree or professional qualification (ZICA, ACCA, and CIMA) will be a strong advantage.

2) 2 to 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a health service, insurance, or retail environment.

3) Sound knowledge of Zambian tax regulations and statutory bodies (ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, WCFCB).

4) Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with medical aid billing systems is a plus.

Key Competencies

a) Integrity and confidentiality; ability to handle sensitive financial and client information ethically.

b) Commercial awareness; a genuine interest in sales and marketing, with the confidence to promote services to clients and partners.
