Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the distribution industry, specifically in sectors such as Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), wholesale, or supply chain firms. Candidates with direct experience at major retailers like ShopRite, Pick n Pay, or Choppies are highly preferred.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: At least 5 years in accounting roles within the distribution industry (FMCG, wholesale, or supply chain).
• Preferred Employers: Experience with companies like ShopRite, Pick n Pay, Choppies, or similar firms in Zambia’s retail or distribution sector.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in financial record-keeping, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, ERP, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Knowledge of inventory cost tracking, budgeting, and financial compliance in a distribution or retail environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ZICA, ACCA) are an advantage.
• Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lusaka, Zambia.

Responsibilities (indicative, based on industry standards):

• Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, in a distribution or retail setting.
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, and reports for management.
• Conduct inventory reconciliations and cost tracking for FMCG or wholesale operations.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations (e.g., VAT, PAYE) and internal controls.
• Support audits and maintain accurate financial records.
