Mair Group is looking for a highly organised, honest, and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support our Finance & Accounts Department. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about accounting, enjoys working with numbers, and is eager to grow their career within a dynamic and expanding organisation.
Key Responsibilities
As an Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for:
- Capturing and reconciling daily branch sales.
- Verifying cash, bank, mobile money, and card receipts.
- Preparing daily banking schedules and deposits.
- Maintaining accurate petty cash records.
- Processing supplier invoices and updating payment schedules.
- Recording receipts and payments in the accounting system.
- Preparing customer invoices and updating debtor accounts.
- Assisting with bank reconciliations.
- Supporting payroll administration by collecting attendance records and payroll documentation.
- Recording stock adjustments and assisting with stock counts.
- Maintaining organised physical and electronic finance records.
- Following up on outstanding supporting documents from branches.
- Providing administrative support to the Finance & Accounts Officer.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in ACCA, CIMA, ZICA Technician or an equivalent accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using accounting software is an added advantage.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
