Role Description
This is a full-time Accounts Clerk role based in Ndola.
The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for processing invoices, recording transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end reporting. Daily duties include managing petty cash, updating ledgers, reconciling accounts, and supporting credit control activities such as following up on outstanding payments. The role also involves preparing basic financial summaries, assisting with documentation for audits, and collaborating with other team members to ensure timely and accurate financial information. The Accounts Clerk will communicate regularly with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve queries and support smooth financial operations.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Accounting and Finance, with practical experience in basic bookkeeping and financial record-keeping.
- Experience with Credit Control, including monitoring accounts, managing collections, and maintaining accurate debtor records.
- Ability to manage Petty Cash, including recording, reconciliation, and proper documentation of all cash transactions.
- Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, to work with colleagues, clients, and suppliers in a clear and professional manner.
- Proficiency with accounting software SAGE PASTEL and MS Office (especially Excel), with strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
- Certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional studies in progress are an advantage.
- Integrity, reliability, and a willingness to learn about the fire protection industry and related compliance requirements.
