About the Role: Artisan Carpenter Opportunities in Solwezi
As an Artisan Carpenter at First Quantum Minerals, you will be responsible for executing maintenance and installation tasks safely and efficiently according to established standards. This full-time position requires a dedicated individual who can work on a variety of carpentry projects, including construction, renovation, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures.

Responsibilities or duties
- Construct, erect, install, renovate, and repair wooden structures and fixtures with precision and safety.
- Follow planned and preventative maintenance schedules diligently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and plans accurately.
- Carry out kitchen installations and maintenance, including cutting, buffing, and fitting granite countertops.
- Report all incidents immediately to supervisors and maintain safety and substation logbooks as per procedures.
- Manage stock levels of woodworking equipment in the warehouse and report defective tools promptly.
- Ensure safe usage and maintenance of all hand tools, conducting regular audits and controlling replacements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Direct Carpentry Supervisor.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Minimum of a ZAQA Certified Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Craft Certificate from a recognized institution in carpentry.
- Demonstrate boldness, initiative, teamwork, and technical proficiency.
- Commitment to safety, quality, attendance, and productivity.
- Willingness to perform standby, overtime, and shift work as required.
- Ability to work safely in environments with exposure to noise and dust.
Experience needed
- At least five years of relevant work experience in carpentry.
