Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

• Carry out electrical maintenance, inspection and repair activities to ensure optimum availability and reliability of plant equipment and machinery.
• Inspect electrical installations and equipment to identify faults, assess the extent of repairs required, and determine the necessary spare parts, materials and consumables.
• Perform planned and ad hoc electrical maintenance and repair work in accordance with approved job card instructions, electrical drawings, specifications and established procedures
• Ensure that the correct materials, tools and consumables are used in accordance with technical specifications and the requirements of the work location.
• Ensure that tools and equipment used for electrical maintenance and installation work are properly maintained, cleaned and returned to designated storage areas after use.
• Strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout procedures and other applicable isolation and safety requirements before commencing work on electrical equipment.
• Monitor and report work progress, delays, defects and resource constraints to the Supervisor for appropriate action.
• Comply with applicable statutory requirements, electrical safety regulations, environmental standards and Mopani Codes of Practice.
• Take appropriate precautions to prevent injuries to personnel, damage to equipment and loss or damage to company property.
• Complete all relevant maintenance records, job cards and technical documentation accurately and submit them to the relevant Supervisor as required.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.
• Craft Certificate or Diploma in Electrical engineering
• Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining or processing plant
• Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
• Good Communication skills
• Must have at least three (02) years Electrical engineering experience
