Position Overview – Artisan Fitter Jobs in Rufunsa

As an Artisan Fitter, you will assist the Project Manager in maintaining the mineral processing unit and all related equipment to guarantee uninterrupted production throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include routine inspections, maintenance scheduling, troubleshooting, and repairs to keep the processing unit operating efficiently and safely.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.

Craft or Technician Certificate in Plant Fitting or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) or Engineering Registration Board (ERB) is mandatory.

At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.

Skills and Competencies

Strong attention to detail with a safety-first mindset.

Effective communication skills.

Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.

Ability to solve problems efficiently and make quick decisions.

Team-oriented with the capability to work independently and coordinate tasks.

Work Environment

The role is based at the Rufunsa mining site or other assigned remote locations. Candidates must be prepared to work in a project site environment that may present physical and logistical challenges.

• Perform daily inspections of the mineral processing unit to identify potential issues.
• Develop and execute a maintenance schedule to ensure regular servicing of equipment.
• Investigate, diagnose, and repair faults promptly to minimize downtime.
• Comply with all workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and report hazards or incidents immediately.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and operational procedures at all times.
• Identify and manage critical spare parts and consumables, ensuring adequate stock is maintained onsite.
• Consult manufacturers’ manuals to recommend updates to maintenance procedures as necessary.
• Report defects and breakdowns promptly and coordinate timely repairs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, as required by project demands.
