Supervisor – Artisanal Mine
Location: Kasempa, Zambia.
Our client, a well-established organisation in the mining sector, wishes to recruit a suitably qualified Supervisor – Artisanal Mine.
Position Summary
The Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day artisanal mining operations, ensuring productivity, regulatory compliance, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. The role requires strong leadership capability and hands-on operational experience in small-scale or artisanal mining environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily artisanal mining operations and workforce activities
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance standards
- Monitor production output and operational efficiency
- Ensure proper site discipline and workforce coordination
- Maintain accurate operational and incident records
- Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities and local stakeholders
- Implement risk mitigation and safety control measures
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in artisanal or small-scale mining operations
- Proven supervisory experience in a mining environment
- Strong understanding of mining safety standards and regulatory compliance
- Ability to manage teams in remote site locations
- Relevant qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field will be an added advantage

- Sound decision-making ability
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Good communication and reporting skills
