Job Summary

The Regional Accountant is responsible for managing financial operations at the regional level for Mika Meats Ltd. This includes receiving and disbursing funds from the headquarters, overseeing payments for livestock procurement, logistical and operational expenses, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Regional Accountant will also ensure compliance with financial policies, accurately capture all operational costs, post invoices, and maintain organized documentation.

Job Description

  • Financial Management:
    • Receive funds from headquarters and ensure accurate and timely disbursement for the purchasing of livestock.
    • Manage payments for all logistical and operational needs, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.
    • Oversee regional bank accounts, conduct reconciliations, and ensure adequate cash flow for regional operations.
  • Procurement Accounting:
    • Coordinate and process payments for the purchase of animals, ensuring that all transactions are properly documented and reconciled.
    • Monitor vendor and supplier accounts to ensure timely payments and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Operational Cost Management:
    • Capture and record all regional operational costs, including transportation, utilities, and other expenses related to beef processing and logistics.
    • Ensure all expenses are accurately categorized and posted in the company’s accounting system.
  • Invoice Processing and Documentation:
    • Post invoices for all regional financial transactions, ensuring accurate documentation and approval workflows are followed.
    • Maintain organized records of all financial documentation, including invoices, receipts, and purchase orders.
  • Reporting and Compliance:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for headquarters, providing insight into regional financial performance.
    • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, company policies, and local tax regulations.
  • General Accounting Duties:
    • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
    • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the region.
    • Ensure proper bookkeeping and provide regular financial updates to the headquarters.
  • Audit and Internal Controls:
    • Ensure adherence to audit requirements and support external and internal auditors during financial reviews.
    • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Support the finance team with ad hoc projects and reports as required.
    • Provide financial guidance and support to regional management on cost management and financial strategies.
