About the Project

Fountain Gate Crafts & Trades School (FGCATS), in cooperation with Liebherr Zambia, is implementing a skills development project aimed at strengthening technical training and workforce readiness for the Zambian mining industry. The project focuses on delivering high-quality, practical training programmes aligned with industry needs.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Project Accounts Officer to support the financial management of the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with financial procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping systems
  • Process invoices, payments, and financial transactions
  • Monitor project expenditures and budget allocations
  • Prepare financial reports and support audits
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records
  • Coordinate financial matters with project partners, including Liebherr Zambia
  • Support compliance with internal financial policies and procedures

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or financial administration
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Note: Applications for internship positions will also be considered.

If appropriate and based on project needs, this position may also be offered as an internship. Applications from interns are therefore welcome. The internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in financial management within an international project environment. Where required, basic support such as accommodation and meals during the internship period may be provided.
