We are urgently seeking experienced Bricklayers/Masons to join our civil works team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Masonry Works: Lay bricks, hollow blocks, and solid concrete blocks to construct structural walls, partitions, and enclosures according to structural drawings.

Accuracy: Ensure all walls are vertically plumb, horizontally level, and built to the correct dimensions and alignment using spirit levels, plumb bobs, and string lines.

Mortar Preparation:Mix cement, sand, and water to the correct consistency/mortar ratios for laying and plastering.

Cutting & Shaping: Cut bricks or blocks to size using hammers or block splitters to fit around corners, windows, or pipework.

Structural Integrity: Install steel reinforcement (rebar) into hollow block cavities where required and ensure proper grouting as per the engineer's specifications.

Cleaning: Maintain a clean working area and clean excess mortar off finished surfaces to prepare for plastering or painting.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Trade Test Certificate in Bricklaying or Masonry.

Experience:Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in industrial or commercial construction (experience with structural block work is essential).

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings.
  • Expertise in laying hollow concrete blocks and solid bricks.
  • Knowledge of bond patterns (stretcher bond, English bond, etc.).

Tools: Must possess basic hand tools (trowel, spirit level, plumb bob, jointer).

Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to handle heavy blocks, cement bags, and work in an outdoor environment.

ATTRIBUTES

  • High standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team under the supervision of a Foreman.

REMUNERATION

Competitive daily rate or monthly salary commensurate with skill level.

Accommodation and meals provided on site.
