JOB DETAILS:
The Required Skills for this Role Include:
- Managing broiler flocks, ensuring optimal growth, health, and welfare.
- Overseeing feed and water supply to ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
- Monitoring flock health, implementing biosecurity measures, and managing veterinary care.
- Meeting production targets for weight gain, feed conversion, and mortality rates.
- Ensuring timely delivery of feed, chicks, and other essential supplies.
- Coordinating with hatchery and processing plant for chick placements and harvest schedules.
- Training, supervising, and motivating farm workers; managing labour schedules and task assignments.
- Monitoring and maintaining all farm equipment and infrastructure in good working condition.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies, environmental standards, and animal welfare regulations.
- Conducting regular audits and maintaining production records and reports.
The Required Qualifications are:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing broiler operations.
- Strong understanding of poultry nutrition, biosecurity, and disease control
The Required Attributes Include:
- Prior hands-on experience managing broiler operations
- Ability to Supervise and motivate farm staff.
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure.
- Attention to Detail.
- Communication Skills
