Responsibilities or duties
The specialist will play a vital role in diversifying ZVEC’s revenue streams by developing a robust pipeline of donor, government, corporate, institutional, and commercially viable opportunities. This position requires strategic leadership in proposal development and partnership management to support vocational training, enterprise development, and youth employment initiatives.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Bachelor’s degree in Business Development, Economics, Marketing, International Development, or related fields.
Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
Experience needed
Minimum five years’ experience in business development, partnerships, or resource mobilisation.
Proven track record of successful proposals, contracts, or revenue generation.

Core Competencies:
- Expertise in proposal and concept note writing.
- Strong skills in opportunity research and pipeline management.
- Effective negotiation and relationship stewardship.
- Commercial costing and donor compliance knowledge.
- Excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Performance Targets for First 90 Days:
- Identify and qualify at least 10 priority prospects from 30 mapped opportunities by Day 30.
- Prepare four decision-ready concepts or proposals by Day 60.
- Advance two opportunities to formal negotiation or advanced consideration by Day 90.
- Implement a monthly pipeline and conversion report accepted by management.
- Develop and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities, tracking value, deadlines, and next steps.
- Map priorities of donors, governments, and institutions relevant to ZVEC’s services.
- Lead preparation of concept notes, proposals, pitches, and partnership presentations.
- Coordinate technical inputs, budgets, and compliance with internal stakeholders.
- Conduct due diligence and maintain comprehensive records of submissions and relationships.
- Support market development and cross-selling across ZVEC’s five entities.
- Monitor proposal conversion rates, partnership obligations, and income secured.
- Expertise in proposal and concept note writing.
- Strong skills in opportunity research and pipeline management.
- Effective negotiation and relationship stewardship.
- Commercial costing and donor compliance knowledge.
- Excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
