We are looking for a highly motivated, commercially minded and financially astute professional** to join our team as a Business Development, Sales & Finance Manager – B2B.

This is a hands-on position combining business development, sales, customer relationship management, accounts receivable and general financial administration.

The successful candidate must be able to generate new business while also maintaining strong financial discipline, following up customer payments and ensuring that customer and bank accounts are properly reconciled.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with hotels, restaurants, caterers, hospitality groups, schools, offices and institutions.
  • Identify companies that regularly purchase vegetables, food products, consumables and general supplies.
  • Identify and engage purchasing managers, procurement officers, chefs, F&B managers, operations managers and business owners.
  • Make appointments and conduct customer visits.
  • Present our companies, products and services professionally.
  • Prepare quotations and follow up consistently until orders are secured.
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Monitor competitors, market prices and industry trends.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and regularly report on opportunities.
  • Convert prospects into paying and recurring customers.
  • Deliver measurable new revenue, not simply generate leads.

Financial & Accounts Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong understanding of basic financial management and accounting principles.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform customer account reconciliations, ensuring invoices, payments, credit notes and outstanding balances are accurate.
  • Monitor customer accounts and maintain an up-to-date accounts receivable/debtors schedule.
  • Follow up outstanding invoices and **expedite payments from clients in a professional but firm manner.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding outstanding balances and payment commitments.
  • Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms.
  • Follow up overdue accounts and escalate problematic accounts when necessary.
  • Assist with cash-flow monitoring and provide updates on expected customer collections.
  • Ensure sales, invoices and customer payments are properly recorded and supported by documentation.
  • Assist with basic financial reporting and management information.
  • Liaise with accountants, auditors, banks and other financial service providers where required.

Statutory Compliance & Payroll

  • Have a basic working understanding of statutory filings and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of routine statutory returns and payments, as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for statutory requirements.
  • Assist with **monthly payroll preparation and administration**.
  • Maintain employee payroll information and ensure payroll records are accurate and up to date.
  • Work with the relevant accountant/payroll provider to ensure statutory payroll obligations are attended to on time.
  • Assist management in monitoring important financial and statutory deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, Commerce, Procurement or another relevant field.
  • Must be registered with a recognized professional body relevant to the qualification/field.
  • Proven experience in **business development, B2B sales, finance, accounts receivable or a related commercial role**.
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Demonstrable ability to perform **bank and customer account reconciliations**.
  • Experience in following up and collecting outstanding customer payments.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll and statutory filings/compliance.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy.
  • Ability to manage confidential financial and employee information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and deliver measurable results.
  • Own vehicle is an added advantage, particularly because the role involves customer visits and business development activities.
  • Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
