Background
National Milling Corporation Limited, is a reputable multinational company specialized in the manufacturing of various flour, mealie meal, stock feeds, and trades in rice and other products, wishes to engage a flexible and energetic person to fill the vacant position indicated below.
WAREHOUSE CHECKER
The role is responsible for overseeing the accurate checking, receiving, processing, and verification of products during loading and offloading activities. This includes ensuring quantities are correct and supervising staff involved in loading and unloading operations from delivery trucks at the assigned location.
The core day-to-day responsibilities include:
i) Order Verification & Auditing
- Cross-Checking Documents: Verifying that pulled items perfectly match the pick list, packing slip, delivery note, and customer invoice.
- Quality Inspection: Checking product packaging to ensure goods are not damaged, expired, or defective before leaving the facility.
- Count Confirmation: Manually counting and verifying quantities for both bulk pallets and individual items
ii) Documentation & System Updates
- Data Entry: Scanning documents or updating the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to log that the stock has left inventory.
- Paperwork Management
- Discrepancy Reporting: Identifying and reporting any shortages, overages, or damaged goods to the supervisor immediately to resolve.
iii) Loading & Dispatch Coordination
- Loading Supervision: Monitoring the loading process to ensure products are handled correctly, stacked safely, and secured for transit.
- Driver Coordination: Verifying carrier details (truck license plate, driver name) to ensure the correct goods are handed to the correct transport provider.
iv) Safety & Compliance
- Safety Protocols: Following workplace health and safety rules, especially when dealing with heavy lifting, fragile goods, or hazardous materials.
- Area Maintenance: Keeping the dispatch and checking area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications or Requirements
Interested applicants must have a full Grade 12 School certificate, a certificate in Business Management Studies or any other related field, with at least (3) years of previous working experience supervising a large number of staff. The interested applicant must have a clear understanding of excellent counting techniques, stock management, and attention to detail.
