As part of the commencement of a new project in North-Western and Copperbelt Province, we invite suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following positions:
Job Purpose
To prepare high-quality meals, maintain food safety standards, and provide an excellent dining experience for employees and visitors.
Main Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and recipes.
- Ensure meals are presented and served to high-quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Ensure proper food storage, handling, and stock rotation.
- Comply with food safety, health, and sanitation standards.
- Minimise food wastage and manage kitchen resources efficiently.
- Assist with menu planning and development.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely.
- Supervise kitchen assistants where required.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Certificate or Diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a camp, hospitality, or mining environment.
- Knowledge of menu planning and kitchen operations.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
