Key Responsibilities:
Translation: Converting written documents (including legal, technical, marketing materials, and more) from Chinese to English and vice versa. This includes maintaining accuracy in meaning, tone, and style.
Interpretation: Providing simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during meetings, conferences, and other events.
Research: Conducting research to ensure accurate understanding of technical terms and industry-specific jargon.
Cultural Liaison: Acting as a bridge between Chinese and English speakers, helping to navigate cultural nuances and communication differences.
Project Management: Managing multiple translation projects and meeting deadlines.
Proofreading and Editing: Ensuring accuracy and consistency in translations.
Localization: Adapting content for the Mandarin-speaking market.
REQUIREMENTS
- Fluency in both Mandarin and English
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong cultural understanding
- Attention to detail
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Understand specialized terminology.
- Proficiency in translation software
- Relevant experience in translation or interpretation is often required.
- A degree in modern languages, translation, interpretation, or a related field is often preferred
