Role Objective: To manage all construction projects from planning through execution to close-out and hand-over.
Responsibilities:
Create a project brief with the architect as communicated from management (for new projects).
Establish time, cost, scope and quality requirements for the project.
Engage with contractors and monitor time, cost and quality with the project team.
Streamline weekly workflow and reports within the department.
Produce engineering drawings and seal with professional endorsement.
Communicate with and obtain necessary regulatory approvals from authorities.
Perform feasibility studies of prospective sites and report to management.
Certify all construction works before handover.
Perform weekly site inspections to monitor progress and preempt roadblocks.
Quality control by material testing, etc.
Ensure all sites are compliant with regulations.
Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders (project team, management, contractors, suppliers, maintenance team) to ensure everyone is up to speed with their tasks.
Managing documentation and reporting
Review annual goals of management in terms of project delivery and propose improvements to ensure the budget and schedule of works are all on track.
Required:
Bachelor of Engineering – Civil Engineering
Registered member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (professional level)
Registered member of The Engineers Registration Board (EngRB)
5years minimum working experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to multi-tasker.
Good communication skill
Excellent interpersonal skill
