Position Summary

The Compliance Inspection Officer is responsible for safeguarding company assets, product standards, and operational integrity across the FMCG supply chain. Utilizing both field inspections and quantitative data analysis, this role conducts routine and spot checks across manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution depots, and sales channels. The officer ensures strict adherence to internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), statutory health & safety requirements, inventory management protocols, and trade compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant, Warehouse & Depot Inspections

• Conduct routine, random, and stock-count compliance inspections across production facilities, central warehouses, regional distribution depots, and retail points of sale.
• Audit physical inventory management processes (FIFO/FEFO principles, stock reconciliations, damage/shrinkage tracking, and scrap disposal) to prevent stock loss and leakage.
• Verify operational compliance with Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and local Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.

2. Supply Chain & Trade Compliance Analytics

• Analyze high-volume operational data (sales reconciliations, distributor discounts, trade promotional spend, and credit terms) to detect patterns of policy non-compliance or revenue leakage.
• Audit procurement, vendor onboarding, and logistics workflows to ensure adherence to company ethical sourcing and pricing policies.

3. Statutory & Labor Regulatory Compliance

• Assist in verifying compliance with statutory employment laws, factory/plant safety guidelines, labor regulations, and statutory employee remittances (e.g., NAPSA, Workers' Compensation, statutory taxes).
• Ensure plant and warehouse operations conform to local environmental, weights and measures, and consumer protection standards.

4. Reporting & Corrective Action Tracking

• Draft clear, evidence-based compliance inspection reports outlining physical and analytical findings, risk severity ratings, and actionable recommendations.
• Maintain a central Compliance & Audit Tracking Log to follow up on corrective action plans (CAPs) with plant managers, logistics heads, and regional sales leads.

5. Internal Audit & Incident Support

• Assist internal audit teams in formal investigations involving stock variances, inventory shrinkage, fuel fraud, or procedural violations by gathering physical evidence, transaction logs, and data reconciliations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Quantitative Risk Management, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Audit, Finance, Law, or a related quantitative/business field.

Professional Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in compliance auditing, stock/inventory audit, operational risk, or quality assurance—preferably within FMCG, retail, manufacturing, or logistics sectors.

Key Competencies & Technical Skills

• FMCG Operational Knowledge: Basic understanding of FMCG supply chain dynamics, warehousing operations, distribution networks, and inventory control systems (FIFO/FEFO).
• Quantitative Data Analytics: Strong capability to analyze large datasets (sales trends, inventory variances, shrinkage logs) using MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data modeling); knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Sage, or Oracle) is a strong advantage.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of internal control frameworks, corporate governance, occupational health and safety standards, and local statutory/labor compliance.
• Meticulous Inspection Skills: Sharp physical and analytical eye for detail during inventory counts, process checks, and operational reviews.
• Communication & Report Writing: Ability to articulate complex operational and numerical findings into concise, objective compliance reports for management.
