This position optimises on-site resources at an operational level. Always ensures compliance with safety and quality assurance standards. Monitors and controls production costs and optimises site productivity. Co-ordinates regular on-site meetings and maintains good lines of communications with all relevant parties. Develops and mentors construction staff and assists the Quantity Surveyor regularly with subcontractor output measurements, wages paid and plant and material requisitions.
Primary Qualifications
- Must be a Zambian Citizen
- Construction supervisory leadership or trade certificate in concrete construction
- At least 10 years’ experience in construction
- Able to interpret construction drawings and ensure concrete work aligns with design specifications
- Plan and organize framework, rebar placement and pour sequences
- Quality control and safety enforcements
- Material and equipment management
- Able to lead and supervise a team
- Able to report records of work progress, labour hours, materials used and site incidents
This position oversees and coordinates activities concerned with production of concrete or asphalt mixtures used on-site. Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of products ordered. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment. Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.
