1. ROLE IDENTIFICATION

Job Title: CONTROLLER

Direct Reports:

  • CONTROL ROOM SUPERVISOR

2. JOB PURPOSE

The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and coordinating security operations through the control room to ensure effective communication, incident management, and timely response to operational matters. The role supports field teams by monitoring activities, tracking deployments, and maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth security operations.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor all security operations and field activities through communication systems, CCTV, GPS tracking systems, and other control room equipment.
  • Receive, record, and respond promptly to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and operational reports.
  • Dispatch security personnel and response teams when required.
  • Maintain regular communication with security guards, supervisors, patrol teams, and management.
  • Keep accurate logs and records of incidents, shift reports, deployments, and daily activities.
  • Monitor attendance and deployment of security personnel to various sites.
  • Escalate serious incidents and emergencies to supervisors and management promptly.
  • Ensure all communication equipment and control room systems are functioning properly.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and incident reports for management review.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and follow established company protocols.
  • Monitor client sites and ensure security coverage is maintained at all times.
  • Report equipment faults, communication failures, or operational concerns immediately.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all security information and operational matters.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and security regulations.

5. QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels with credit or better in Mathematics and English.

Diploma or Certificate in Security Management, Information Technology, or related field is an added advantage

6. EXPERIENCE:

Minimum. 1–2 years’ experience in a control room, operations, or security environment.

Experience in CCTV monitoring and radio communication systems is preferred.

Knowledge of security operations and emergency procedures.
